The Certificate II in Sustainable Work Practices is an entry level qualification providing learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain entry into a range of industries identified in the qualification structure, as well as the associated sustainable work practices for the relevant industry. This course is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to undertake the administrative responsibilities associated with cultural development projects managed by local government or community organisations. Community cultural development projects may cover a gamut of activities including theatre, performance, literary events, music and visual arts. The essential characteristic of such events is that they express the identity and aspirations of a definable community and involve community participation. Communities may be bounded by geography, ethnicity, occupation or shared identity. Such vocational positions are normally described as project officers, administrative officers or cultural development officers. The skills and knowledge have particular relevance to indigenous organisations.
This course aligns to the Victorian Department of Health Service Coordination Strategy. Service Coordination seeks to align practices, processes, protocols and systems to enable organisations to work together to provide a seamless and integrated response to clients. The Health Service Coordination Strategy expects all funded services to implement reviews of service coordination infrastructure, systems and practices. This is to be done with a view to implementing service coordination models with associated policies and procedures. It is anticipated that all levels of staff involved in service coordination across various service sectors, may require training in this area.
